Perth Concert Band stages its own concerts throughout the year, as well as performing at many regular and one-off events. The band usually takes part in the Anzac Day Parade in central Perth and the annual RAC Channel 7 Christmas Pageant.
The band also performs at fairs and open days as well as at several carols by candlelight functions and in shopping centres over the Christmas period. The band also undertakes intrastate trips and played in the Margaret River region during Easter 2002, including a concert at Leeuwin Estate.
Rehearsals are held from 8pm to 10pm on Tuesday nights at Mount Lawley Senior High School. Members are expected to arrive by 7.45pm and have their instruments warmed up for a prompt 8pm start.
Comprises of a red Perth Concert Band blazer, a red tie and a black hat. These items are teamed with a white men’s business shirt (no blouses) buttoned to the collar, black dress trousers, black socks or stockings and black dress shoes (preferably lace-up or court shoes).
"All Black" uniform to be used for own indoor concerts. Uniform consists of neat semi-formal dress trousers/pants/skirt, black shirt/top (open neck acceptable), black dress shoes, black socks/stockings.
The Band has a casual uniform consisting of a polo t-shirt which is to be worn with black pants and shoes. The shirt is available for purchase and members will be advised when this is required for engagements.
The band owns a variety of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments which members can apply to use.
